Minimum Qualifications:

The applicant must be licensed five (5) years and have five (5) years of salon/shop experience in the cosmetology/barbering industry.

The applicant must have valid, current license through the WV Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • This employee will be responsible for teaching the Cosmetology Program Curriculums. This employee needs to have an understanding of cosmetology and/or barbering and will prepare students for careers in these industries.
  • Maintain and follow all guidelines and records including but not limited to student records, documents, purchases, and receipts as required by the WVDE and the WV Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists.
  • Maintain program to the standards of the WV Department of Education and the WV Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists.
  • Build and maintain a program advisory committee and follow all Council on Occupational Education Guidelines.
  • The successful candidate must participate in the professional teaching program through WVUIT or possess WVDE CTE Teacher Endorsement Code(s) 7065.
    The successful candidate will be involved in the appropriate WVDE approved career technical student organizations (SkillsUSA).
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Director or immediate supervisor may assign.

Salary: Contingent upon degree level and experience.

Terms of Employment: 200 Half (1/2) Days and is effective starting for the 2020 – 2021 School Year
